Internal Funding

Revenue from the Alfred Research Trusts is directed towards funding research priority areas within The Alfred. In 2011, three $500,000 grants were awarded for research projects that aim to directly benefit Alfred patients. Alfred Trusts revenue also supports the Small Project Grants scheme (for new/inexperienced researchers), Postgraduate Research Scholarships scheme (near miss NHMRC) and the services of a biostatistician based in the Monash School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

This means that Monash University is the administering institution, not The Alfred. Deadlines for applications are as advised by the Monash Research Office.

To submit applications via Monash, staff are required to hold a Monash adjunct appointment. Such an appointment should be arranged through the appropriate School (Central Clinical School or School of Public Health & Preventive Medicine).
